Skiing pow

 Skiing pow , White Grizzly

If you’re looking for deep powder, untouched lines, and an adventure far from the crowds, cat skiing might just be your next obsession. But what is cat skiing, exactly? It’s a backcountry skiing experience where you’re transported to remote, snow-covered terrain in a heated snowcat instead of a chairlift or helicopter. And when it comes to the best cat skiing in BC, the Selkirk Mountains deliver in spades.

A Tree Skier’s Paradise

At our private tenure in the Goat Range of BC’s Selkirk Mountains, we specialize in something different from the typical alpine laps. While many of our runs begin above treeline (ideal for soaking in those bluebird days), it’s the steep tree skiing, tight chutes, playful drops, and soft, deep pillows that set our terrain apart. This is the realm of true skiing pow that light, dry Kootenay Coldsmoke that dreams are made of.

Deep Snow. Private Mountain. No Crowds.

Our catskiing zone faces northeast, staying protected from sun and wind, which helps maintain prime snow conditions throughout the season. We operate during the heart of winter from mid-December through early April when the powder is deepest and most reliable.

Unlike other operations that run multiple cats, we only send out one at a time. That means your group has the entire mountain to yourselves. And just in case, there’s always a backup cat ready to roll if needed.

Comfort Between Runs

The ride up is part of the fun. Our heated cats come with cushioned seats, Bluetooth speakers, and plenty of storage, giving you the chance to rest, snack, and get pumped before your next drop. You’ll typically enjoy six to nine runs a day, totaling around 5,000 vertical metres (16,500 feet).

All-Inclusive Adventure

Our three- and four-day cat skiing packages are all-inclusive: guiding, cozy timber-frame lodge, chef-prepared meals, après, snacks, and that famous Kootenay hospitality. All you have to do is show up ready to ride.

Whether you’re chasing steeps through the trees, floating on pow pillows, or simply seeking the best cat skiing BC has to offer, our Selkirk sanctuary promises an unforgettable backcountry experience.

Ready to ride the deep? Come explore what cat skiing is all about and why those who know never go back to the lift line.
